Describe how Ida’s words have inspired your work and life…
‘Hi, my name is Phoenix DeLeón and I am a Faculty member at the Dr Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado in the US and I wanted to say a little bit about how Dr Ida Rolf has inspired me with her words. One of the things that she said is that structure informs function and that that structure is changeable at any time throughout life. And I just love this saying because it feels to me like anyone who wants to change at any time can have access to that change, it is just a matter of pursuing it. And this is something that informs my work with my clients as well as my work in my own body and how I show up as a Rolfer’.
How does Ida’s work continue to be relevant in the 21st century?
‘Dr Rolf’s work remains relevant in the 21st century because hers was a vision of evolution and growth. Structural Integration at its core is really about change and transformation and especially in this last year in 2020 and here we are in 2021, this is a wonderful moment to really bring forth her vision of change and transformation. I believe that it was her vision to help people as individuals and also as communities to have better lives by embodying the change that they wanted, and we are practitioners and Structural Integrators can participate in that in the 21st century’.
