Before Rolfing
Before becoming a Certified Rolfer Hervé was a Physical Education and Sports teacher. He was also a dancer, body movement worker and a Pilates teacher as well as Pilates trainer.It is thanks to his training in Modern Dance, Pilates and Feldenkrais that Hervé discovered the psychosomatic techniques that would help him to understand movement in a different way, and to ultimately become the first teacher-educator of STOTT-PILATES in Spain.
Inspiration to train in Rolfing®
I was very attracted by this approach which is based on shaping inner structure, on connection with hidden dimensions of our organism, on relationships with life. From my first experience in a Spectrum session (an orientation course), I realized that the more I was nourishing an easy sense of balance verticality, the more I was opening up – not just to my environment, but in all aspects of my life. And vice versa: Rolfing gave me the concrete experience of the unconditional letting go in gravity which leads to space and articulations for the inner and outer body.And then, the true and authentic connections I had with the Rolfing community sealed the deal for me.
Teaching Method
The most remarkable thing during my training was to see how the Rolfing teachers were carrying the vision of the method in their way of teaching: it was written in their being and acts before their words.In my teaching, I aim to open a space of immersion, as it would be to learn a language, hand to hand. I try to bring out all the facets of the work of a Rolfer, of what we build in a praxis: a presence in relation to space, to the other, to the know-hows, all this in a shared process of transformation. I seek to open up to the diversity of students, with their resources and their needs, just as the future Rolfer will do for each client. I am particularly attached to developing learning through the intelligence of the body, a true cornerstone of our training. It reveals through embodiments, an endless dialogue with our body in relationship with the forces of life, in a way that we can then open up to the other.
